Retirement Home
An Historic Mansion
The 1840 John C. Whitin Mansion, formerly known as the ‘Mason Home’, was purchased by the Whitinsville Retirement Society, Inc. in 1975.
Spacious, Private Rooms
The Mansion features private rooms with en-suite baths located in a safe, historic home.
Rooms in the original Whitin Mansion are each laid out slightly differently in keeping with the character of the 19th century home. Rooms in the Mansion addition are generally very similar.
In both cases, our rooms are spacious, with each featuring an en suite bath and ample storage.
Home Cooked Meals Are Our Specialty
Residents of the Retirement Home are served three meals and two snack services each day. The main meal is served at noon, while a lighter supper is served at 5:30 PM.
In addition, breakfast offers hot and cold cereals, toast or muffins, and fruit. Eggs are available on certain days, and pancakes are served once a week.
Residents are welcome to a hot drink, muffins or pastries at the 10 AM coffee-time. There is also an afternoon snack/tea/coffee service.
Independent and Carefree Living
Meals, cleaning, laundry services, maintenance and repairs – no worries! The 24/7 on-site staff is dedicated to making sure things run smoothly.
Regular activities and a tight-knit community provide a healthy social lifestyle for all our residents.
