Assistant Director

Our Assistant Director will help manage and facilitate operations of a 23-unit apartment complex and assist in managing an 18 unit congregate living facility. This position reports to the Director, and its primary responsibility is supporting the Director in providing a comfortable and caring environment while managing day to day operations. This position requires 24 hours per week with the opportunity for additional hours as needed.

Assistant Director Responsibilities:

  • Manage rent roll, wait list and work orders associated with apartment complex in accordance with all local, state and federal fair housing laws.
  • Ensure all administrative paperwork is submitted and filed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain consistent office hours and act as first point of contact for residents of the apartment complex.
  • Organize occasional social activities for residents.
  • Assist the Director in operational aspects of the congregate living Home including: scheduling, budgeting, communicating with residents, families and suppliers, promoting and marketing of the properties.
  • Act as interim Director when Director is on leave.
  • Always operating in accordance with the Director, guidelines, and policies of the WRSI.

Assistant Director Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years’ experience in building management or hospitality industries desired, preferably in a senior living environment.
  • Strong affinity for the elderly and patient understanding of challenges faced.
  • Ability to budget time effectively, organize/prioritize multiple tasks with an aptitude for quality, accuracy and detailed work while meeting deadlines.
  • Proven leadership impact and ability to influence and deal with conflict.
  • Excellent written, editing, verbal communication skills, and detailed project management skills.
  • Hands-on team player, skilled with attention to detail.
  • Functional knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).

If the children are grown and you are cooking less but miss cooking for a family, put your skills to work and make some folks happy. We are a non-profit retirement home looking for someone who can cook delicious homemade meals!

We have a beautiful well-equipped kitchen, lovely residents, and great employees all in a wonderful home-like setting.

Shifts range from 7:30 am – 2:30 pm or 2:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Weekend availability is required. Training is provided, but cooking experience is preferred. Making a daily difference in people’s lives is rewarding work!
